Solid ink September 26, 2016

well lubricated. The color is a unique one and while it doesn't look like "fresh blood" it matches my oxblood derby shoes perfectly. Very cool ink.

A maroon that trends toward the brown side of the spectrum. Cleans well out of pens

Oxblood is moving past blood and into scab. July 5, 2016

The only red I had previously was Parker Quink.  With a fine tipped pen it just wasn't jumping out on the paper like I needed.  So I was on the search for a red that was less pink, more vibrant.

I was between Diamine Red Dragon or Oxblood.  Went with Oxblood as it looked to be more different than what I had.  Oxblood has a LOT of brown to it, like a rich red/brown brick.  I like it, but was after something a little more red.  Don't get my wrong, it is definitely red and not brown, but it isn't really the vibrant red I was looking for.  When I write a line of MB Toffee Brown next to the oxblood, they look too similar.  Hard to explain.  I may have to pick up Red Dragon on my next ink run.

As far as performance goes, the ink is very well behaved.  Doesn't strike me as too dry or wet.  It doesn't bleed through paper.  I am happy.

I really like the colour of this ink. It's beautiful. It's not too wet but not dry either.

A go-to red ink for everyday use October 9, 2014
Reviewer: Wayne (ToasterPastry) from San Diego
In my never-ending quest to write with the perfect blood-red ink, I came across Diamine Oxblood, purchased as a sample. First, it is NOT the color of venous blood. But it is dark. It has a slight--very slight--violet shade. Maroon is a very good comparison. Typically a Diamine sample bottle takes me nearly a year a to use up. But I was done with this ink much sooner. I have since bought a larger bottle from the Anderson's. It is an absolutely well-behaved ink that is perfect in multiple pens, and is totally appropriate for daily use on just about any paper. Unlike Sheaffer Skrip Red, which has become a standard in the industry, this is much less intense to look at, and is an absolute pleasure to write with.
