Oxblood or Syrah ? October 20, 2017
Reviewer: ADS1 from NC
Just received the Oxblood. It is like many Diamine inks - free--flowing and pleasant. The depth (darkness) of color depends largely upon the width of nib, the wetness of the nib and the quality of the paper. So, this can be bright red in one pen, and dark in another. Quite nice ink. I prefer it to be darker and "pen" it accordingly. I think it is routinely a bit "redder" than Syrah.

Solid ink September 26, 2016

well lubricated. The color is a unique one and while it doesn't look like "fresh blood" it matches my oxblood derby shoes perfectly. Very cool ink.

A maroon that trends toward the brown side of the spectrum. Cleans well out of pens

Oxblood is moving past blood and into scab. July 5, 2016
Reviewer: Michael Mehall from Boise, ID United States
The only red I had previously was Parker Quink.  With a fine tipped pen it just wasn't jumping out on the paper like I needed.  So I was on the search for a red that was less pink, more vibrant.

I was between Diamine Red Dragon or Oxblood.  Went with Oxblood as it looked to be more different than what I had.  Oxblood has a LOT of brown to it, like a rich red/brown brick.  I like it, but was after something a little more red.  Don't get my wrong, it is definitely red and not brown, but it isn't really the vibrant red I was looking for.  When I write a line of MB Toffee Brown next to the oxblood, they look too similar.  Hard to explain.  I may have to pick up Red Dragon on my next ink run.

As far as performance goes, the ink is very well behaved.  Doesn't strike me as too dry or wet.  It doesn't bleed through paper.  I am happy.

I really like the colour of this ink. It's beautiful. It's not too wet but not dry either.
