Esterbrook Red Twist Filler 2668 Nib

Esterbrook Red Twist Filler 2668 Nib

Alternative Views:

Esterbrook Twist Filler in Red, ca. 1943-4. The hardest to find of all the Esterbrook models. Wartime restrictions meant these pens switched from lever filling pens to piston. All metal trim was made of Palladium Silver. No rubber or other metals were used. Piston shaft and mechanism were all plastic. Unfortunately as is common with this models, the barrel crystallizes and the piston mechanism is not usable or repairable. This is a collector piece only and will not fill. This barrel has crystallization and when held up to the light the piston mechanism can be clearly seen. Cracks appear in the material. 2668 Medium point nib is not original to the pen, but is in good condition and could be swapped for one of your other Esterbrook pens. Some minor play in the clip, but again, somewhat common with these. A very rare piece and a chance to add one to your collection.

He listen to my questions regarding the pen and to another pen I was looking at. He made sure that I understood everything about the pen I ultimately purchased. No pressure.
