Platinum 3776 Kanazawa-haku - Fujin Raijin

Alternative Views:

The beauty of the Kanazawa-haku (gold leaf) and the traditional techniques have joined together to release a premium masterpiece, the Kanazawa-haku fountain pen "Fujin Raijin (the Wind God and the Thunder God)."

Usually, a gold leaf is made by beating and extending the foil to a thickness of just one ten thousandth of a millimeter. This is done by using a foil beating machine with the edges trimmed to a square. Platinum has broken the square gold leaf again into fragments and pasted them together. Then Platinum applied Momi Chirashi, a traditional technique used in a folding screen or a painting on a fusuma (Japanese sliding doors) since ancient times. By pasting these random forms of gold leaves together one by one by all hand crafted, it creates a sense of depth giving an elegant glow to the one-of-a-kind body.

Platinum has added Fujin Raijin-zu, a representative design of Japan as well as a masterpiece of Rinpa, on its Kanazawa-haku body using a remarkable hiramakie technique, bringing together the tradition and the elegance in the fountain pen. It also applies the complete airtightness "Slip & Seal Mechanism" of the popular 3776 Century series that prevents ink from drying out in the pen.

The Platinum 3776 Kanazawa-haku - Fujin Raijin fountain pen fills with Platinum cartridges, available in several colors. The pen is presented in a luxurious wooden gift box. Converter sold separately.

Beautiful pen, excellent writer. December 1, 2017
Reviewer: Dan from Davenport, IA United States
I think this is the first pen I've purchased that wrote fine and complete lines from the moment I inked it the first time. There was no hesitation or partial starvation. I wrote half a page right away without a single skip. The feel and feedback is superb. I tend to write with a medium to light touch. There are no words to describe just how transformative it feels to write with.
I bought the pen for the finish and am not disappointed. I have big but not huge hands, and that is the only short coming to the pen, I can see. It is a bit short unposted, and the finish is way to nice to post on. The barrel is short enough that unposted caused me cramps in my hand after half a page. It is gorgeous though. And so smooth.
