Sailor King of Pen Fountain Pen - Black with Gold Trim, Broad Nib

The King of Pen is Sailor's largest size fountain pen, and it is comparable in size and feel to the Montblanc 149 fountain pen or the Pelikan M1000 fountain pen. The Sailor King of Pen fountain pen shown here in Black resin with Gold trim and a Broad nib is well suited for someone who prefers a larger pen.

The black resin body and cap are appointed with gold-plated trim, which gives an air of elegance and authority. The 21k nib is exceptionally smooth, and the pen can be filled with the included proprietary converter for use with bottled ink or with a standard Sailor cartridge, which is also included. Sailor has a company history stretching back to 1911, and a reputation for quality and value that few other pen manufacturers can ever hope to match.

When you want to make a statement April 24, 2016

I've been a big fan of Montblanc 149 for many years and finally decided it was time to add a Sailor King of Pen to my daily carry.  It's slightly bigger than the 149 capped, and about on par posted and barrel length.  Frankly, I like the Sailor more, as it is a little less flashy, not having the Montblanc snowflake on the cap, and a slightly more elegant tapered look.  I love the cap band which reminds you it is a "King of Pen".  As they say, looks aren't everything, it's how the pen performs, and it does so admirably.  The Broad nib is super smooth, and has some spring to it, unlike the Montblanc.  I like everything about the pen, and am glad to have added it to my collection.  In a sea of Montblancs, this Sailor really stands out!
