Sailor Kiwa-Guro Pigmented (Nano) Black Fountain Pen Ink (50ml Bottle)

Sailor Kiwa-Guro Pigmented (Nano) Black fountain pen ink is a high quality choice for the deep rich color and its fast-drying and water resistant properties. This pigmented ink was designed for brush pens, but is safe for use in fountain pens as well. A little extra care is called for, so don't leave it in your pen for weeks on end without cleaning. The pigment particles, if left to dry, can require a little more maintenance to clean out. Sailor Kiwa-Guro Pigmented (Nano) Black fountain pen ink dries on the surface of the paper and is perfect for mixed-media or watercolor artists who use thicker sketch or watercolor paper, but this also works well for artists or others who use fountain pens, with a color wash over top.

The 50ml glass bottle features an internal removable ink reservoir that makes it possible to fill your pen even when the ink runs low. Cap the bottle, turn it upside down, and then turn it right-side up. The holes on the sides of the reservoir allow ink to flow into the reservoir into which a fountain pen nib can be submerged.

Excellent ink February 8, 2016
Reviewer: Ali from Dubai, UAE
I love this ink, it isn't _jet_ black but it's black enough and shades into a texture-y dark gray. Dries relatively fast. Shipping was superfast, and the ink was well packed.

Best Black Fountain Pen Ink June 6, 2015
Reviewer: Jesse W. from St. Paul, MN
I'm always on the lookout for a solid black ink. I do a lot of writing, and I need a black ink that is bulletproof and behaves well on Moleskine notebook paper. This ink not only behaves well on not so great paper, but is also very much "bulletproof". I have tried Noodler's black, and because of the the way this ink dries matte, I just like the Sailor ink better. The bottle is also perfect for Lamy 2000 pens with its fill mechanism.

High quality
Reviewer: Martin Leverton from Kettering, Northamptonshire
Sailor Kiwa-Guro is a high quality waterproof pigment. It causes no problems, and doesn't appear to suffer nib creep problems. It seems to write an easy flowing line which then dries almost straight away. I doubt you could judge this ink by the usual "wet test", despite being a well flowing ink. Its properties may explain why it lays down a line that is very controllable. Where you put the ink is where it stays. The Sailor Jentle inks I have tried are not pigment inks, and were "wet inks" in the normal use of the phrase. I like this ink, but it should probably only be put in a pen which is regularly used, and cleaned, or one that has the good quality cap seal that Sailor pens have. That said, I have heard that this ink is less likely to cause from other "pigment inks" , and the sailor pigment inks are the only ones that I'd be willing to use, even if that's a sign of my ignorance.
