The TWSBI Vac700R fountain pen in Clear with a 1.1 stub stainless steel nib has a see-through clear colored plastic body, which makes checking the level of your ink a breeze. The smooth writing steel nib, frosted clip, and silver trim accents make this larger sized pen a real workhorse! Because of the updates to the pens and nib units, the TWSBI stainless steel Vac700R replacement nibs will fit only the new Vac700R fountain pens, and will NOT fit the older Vac 700 pens. TWSBI Vac 700R Fountain Pen - Clear, 1.1 Stub Nib

The TWSBI Vac 700 fountain pens and nib units have been modified and updated, and are now available as the TWSBI Vac700R. The TWSBI Vac700R fountain pen in Clear with a 1.1 Stub stainless steel nib is a departure from the piston filler fountain pens found in the rest of the TWSBI lineup. The TWSBI Vac700R fountain pen has a see-through clear colored plastic body, which makes checking the level of your ink a breeze. The smooth writing steel nib, frosted clip, and silver trim accents make this larger sized pen a real workhorse!

The Vac700R fountain pen has been updated by modidfying the 2 valves in the older version into one valve in the new model. The grip and feed section of the pen has also been enlarged and tapered, which combined with the valve modification, increased the ink flow of the pen by a small percentage. Because of these changes to the pens and nib units, the TWSBI stainless steel Vac700R replacement nib will fit only the new Vac700R fountain pen, and will NOT fit the older Vac 700 pens. If you own an older Vac 700 fountain pen, then the older style Vac 700 replacement nibs will fit your pen.

This vacuum filler pen holds a LARGE amount of ink, and fills by unscrewing the end cap, pulling it out, and then the pen fills on the downstroke. Be sure to hold the pen in the ink for several seconds after pushing the end cap in, and for best results, you should do this twice. The TWSBI Vac700R fountain pen fills with bottled ink only, and for best filling results, the TWSBI Vac 20A ink bottle is a wonderful option.

A solid performer October 23, 2017

I liked this pen more than I thought I would.  The finish on the body is very good.  The metal finish is bright and free from scratches and the laser engraving is top notch.  It is a little heavier than I thought it would be, although this gives it a solid feel yet does not feel clunky.  In general, I do not like pens with a stepped body.  It took me a little bit to used to that, but now I don't notice it.  The body of the cap is faceted, which is interesting.  I think I would have preferred the clip to be smooth and shiny instead of the matte finish.

The 1.1 mm stub nib writes wonderfully, although it can be a little hard to start after brief pauses in writing. This could be because I did not flush the pen before inking it up.  Pausing briefly with the pen to the paper prior to restarting "fixes" this.  I'll flush the pen before refilling to see if that really fixes this issue.  The nib is smooth and has good line variation.  It is plenty wet.

Broad nib. Very smooth. Great writer. Easy to clean. Great filling mechanics. And it looks great.

Love this pen. It holds a lot of ink. The vacuum action is fun to watch. I did exchange the nib for a broad, though. And with that new nib it writes broad and wet. A terrific pen.
