This vacuum filler pen holds a LARGE amount of ink, and fills by unscrewing the end cap, pulling it out, and then the pen fills on the downstroke. Be sure to hold the pen in the ink for several seconds after pushing the end cap in, and for best results, you should do this twice. The TWSBI Vac Mini fountain pen fills with bottled ink only, and for best filling results, the TWSBI Vac 20A ink bottle is a wonderful option.

An outstanding writing tool. October 20, 2017
Reviewer: Vladislav Sukhmel from Saint-Petersburg, Russia
The pen is stylish and cool. It's a pleasure to both use it and watch its mechanism.

At first, it refused to start, so I wrote to TWSBI and searched the internet for some clues, here's what I found:
1) It is better to first flush a pen with soapy water;
2) It is supposed to be used only in "long writing" position (as per instruction).

TWSBI: The end cap needs to be completely opened for there to be ink flow.  This is how the Vac models are designed.  You need to unscrew the end cap all the way until it is able to free spin on its own. Otherwise, ink will not be allowed to travel into the feeder.
TWSBI: The Vac models are designed for people who take them on flights to avoid ink spilling mid-flight.

TWSBI Vac Mini January 3, 2016
Reviewer: Mary G from Shelby Township, MI United States
Let me start by saying that I have never had a "cracked" TWSBI...and I have 6 of them. The piston in this Mini Vac works like a charm. This pen has TWSBI's 1.1 Stub nib which is my favorite...a very smooth writer. Very satisfied with this pen! Would not hesitate to buy any TWSBI pen.
