The unique pattern of the wild cherry bark on the cap and barrel means that no two pens will be alike. The natural wood grain provides slight texture which is an interesting detail not found in many other pens. The smooth writing 14k gold nib is a delight to use. The thick gold trim band, inscribed with "Denshiro" and "Sailor Japan," provides an added element of elegance and warmth which compliments this material. The pen fills with either Sailor proprietary ink cartridges, or with the included converter for use with bottled ink.
